Jamaica gambling outfit to list locally

Published: Wednesday September 17, 2008

A Jamaican lottery gambling outfit is planning to list on Trinidad and Tobago's Stock Exchange.

Lottery games provider Supreme Ventures, which is already listed on the Jamaican stock market, has applied to cross-list in Port of Spain as a new option to local investors.

Stock Exchange general manager Wain Iton confirmed Supreme Ventures's application to cross-list on the local market.

Supreme Ventures is expected to be on the local stock market before the end of the month, Iton added, and the company will make shares available for local investors to trade. It was not immediately determined what price its shares would trade at.

The company received a licence in Jamaica to conduct three, specific lottery games in that country in 2001.

It started operations later that year with its Cash Pot and Lucky 5 betting games and added its Dollaza game in 2003. Supreme acquired the Jamaica Lottery Company in 2003 and amassed lottery sales in 2007 of J$16.9 billion.
